What lies beneath our connection with another human, and in particular, what is the hidden voice that shares the truth of this connection? Are we truly ourselves or are we simply constructed through another, darker influence?
Imago is a critically acclaimed duet that interrogates the nature of the human condition seen from the perspective of the hidden dysfunctions in relationships, experienced in various intoxications that alter, shape and deform the self as well as our relationships.
The toxic natures that we exhibit are represented through floral symbolism inspired by the historical 'Language of Flowers'. The white pillars on which the bouquets are arranged create ever-changing visual architectures as the couple navigate their internal landscapes and interactions.
Imago reflects on a universal condition that we all experience to varying degrees, and on the progression of our being towards fulfillment and autonomy.
